Our adoption journey (officially) begins!

For many of you this may be news BUT we are hoping to extend our family through adoption. We have been thinking about adoption for awhile. In August, at Collegiate Week in Glorieta, we heard a sermon about adoption that helped confirm how God was already leading our family.

We initially were interested in international adoption but discovered that domestic adoption is probably a better fit for our family. Over the Christmas break, we completed our adoption application--we're working through an agency in Alabama--and submitted it a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday, we had our initial interview with the agency (2+ hour phone interview) and our application was approved. This is definitely a VERY early step in a long journey BUT we finally feel as though we are moving forward. We will be certain to post updates as we go along. Here are some ways that you can pray for us:
* Pray that God would help us prepare our home and hearts to welcome a new child into our lives.
* Pray that we will be able to efficiently, accurately, and completely accomplish all of the logistical tasks before us.
* Pray that God will provide the finances for us to proceed through this process.
* Pray for that boy out there (yeah, we know it's going to have to be a boy) that will one day be a Droddy!

I'd like to respectfully submit myself for Droddy adoption. I think I would be a great fit!

But really, some kid out there doesn't know how lucky they're going to be to be a Droddy!
