Summer Rewind: Part V (Glorieta)
So..it's almost October. Time to get past the summer. Here are a few pics from our last adventure of the summer--our annual trip to Glorieta, NM for Collegiate Week.

Summer Rewind: Part IV (Charleston, Atlanta)
Still recapping the summer--wow! Part 4 of our summer adventure sent us to Charleston, SC to a family wedding. Of course, we had to stop in Atlanta--and the Varsity! I even wore my GT shirt in honor of the occasion.
In the couple of days before the wedding, we got to take in some of the sights of Charleston. Here we are on the waterfront.
Summer Rewind: Part III (Elizabeth, Baton Rouge)
Continuing with our summer of fun...we journeyed to Elizabeth, LA to see my (Jamey's) family. This means we had to take the obligatory picture of all the kids--we're getting quite a crew. Note the newest addition--little Erin!
Next, straight from Elizabeth to Baton Rouge for the annual Director-Family Retreat. This is a great time where all the BCM Directors and all of our families get together. Here we are hanging with the Clarks at the BR Zoo. They are also adopting from Africa (Rwanda, to be exact)--find their adoption blog here.

Summer Rewind: Part II (Arkansas, Houston)
Our first trip of the summer brought us to Arkansas to visit Mary's family in Harrison. We always enjoy heading north to a little cooler weather, being in the Ozarks, and seeing our family. We spent a day in Branson at Branson Landing which is almost just like the Louisiana Boardwalk here in Shreveport. Here we are outside of Bass Pro pretending we're out on a lake!
We also took the boys to play minigolf while we were in Branson. It was a big hit. I like Seth's facial expression in this one.
Funny thing about our trip to Arkansas is that we had to have our transmission rebuilt while we were there. Goodbye very-large-chunk-of-money-that-we-could-have-used-on-our-adoption!! The big issue (besides the $) with this repair is that it took a week to complete and we needed to be in Houston for a wedding. Solution: the boys stayed in Harrison with the fam while Mary and I made a whirlwind trip to Houston for the wedding I was in. Mary then returned to retrive the children. Here we are looking fancy at the wedding reception!
Summer Rewind: Part I (Shreveport)
Tomorrow, Jonah enters his first day of 1st Grade. I cannot believe it. Everybody says this...the summer has just FLOWN by. You may have noticed a distinct lack of family blog posting this summer. I'm dishing up for you a wonderful bowl of Excuse Stew: 1 part busy family, 4 parts road trip with a big helping of trying-to-adopt-a-child! Actually, I may just be talking to myself at this point. Hello, is anyone out there?
Anyway, as we begin a new school year, we thought it would be appropriate to review what life has been like these past 3 months. Think of it as a "What I Did This Summer" project. We will begin our rewind with the end of school back in May. Here are Jonah and Seth after Jonah's end-of-the-year kindergarten recognition.
Seth had an end-of-the-year program for his preschool class as well. Here he is with his teacher, Ms Hendrix, after the program.
