Droddy Hill

The first leg of our journey across the southeast was spent in Elizabeth, La. We were with my family for 5 days. Jonah and Seth had a great time playing with their cousins: Nathan, Madison, and Matthew. We were able to enjoy some of our favorite Droddy family traditions--Christmas Eve at Granny and Paw Paw's with gumbo and fireworks and turkey nuggets on Christmas Day. Here I am on the "pinnacle" of Droddy Hill (where my grandparents and other relatives live).
Another part of our time in Elizabeth was getting an offer on our house. We accepted but the buyer backed out. Oh well--we will get another--hopefully soon. We are now in Harrison, AR with Mary's family. Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

You'll put your eye out!

We had a nice time tonight getting together with some friends at the Sullivan's. Thanks to Scott and Joy for having us over.

Also tonight, our neighborhood put luminaries up and down every street and people mingled about. After we got home we walked around the neighborhood and talked to people. While we were stopped, the boys were running through yards and PLAYING WITH STICKS. At one point, Seth fell while running and, you guessed it, almost right in the eye. Fortunately, all eyes are still present and accounted for.

Here's one of the luminaries in front of our house.

It seems as though every day is so full of places to go, people to see, and things to do. Today was also Seth's last day of preschool at Shallowford Presbyterian Preschool (he's been going once a week). We found out one of Seth's special toys is "his baby"! He apparently has been carrying it around a lot at school.

The busyness of the past two or three weeks is starting to slow a bit but, of course, we are getting ready to move. More updates are coming soon.

Boy..oh boy!

Mary and I are very excited to say that we are having another boy!! We went to Mary's doctor this past Monday to have an ultrasound and it was VERY clear that boy #3 is on the way. Honestly, we would have been surprised if we were NOT having a boy. By the way, ultrasounds are an amazing thing. I don't know how anyone can see that and not believe that an unborn baby is not a real person. We thank God for the blessing of children. OK, so does anyone have any good name suggestions?

Blurg, we're blogging now!!!

I never thought we would do it, but here we are. We would like to thank the Sullivans and Goldens for being our inspiration. We felt the need to keep in touch with all our friends around the world. Especially, since we stand the chance of being homeless for a while in Shreveport, if our house doesn't sell in Atlanta soon. At least we will have a nice "vacation home" in Atlanta to come back and visit all the friends we will greatly miss!! So, here we are. Please be patient with us as we try to figure all this out.

Getting Started

So, hopefully this will be a great way to keep in touch with friends and family as we transition from Atlanta to Shreveport and beyond. We're just getting started with this so it might take us a while to get the hang of it. Keep checking.
