It's fun to JUMP!!

Everyday is an adventure! The kids are constantly thinking of creative ways to play. Yesterday, the boys decided to make a pile of nearly every pillow in our house. Here they are posing with their creation.
Of course, when you have a pile of pillows, the obvious thing to do is to take a flying leap into them. This picture makes me laugh every time because Seth is completely airborne.
Both boys flying...from a different angle. Stay away head injuries. Stay away broken bones. You are NOT our friends!
Abram looks like he is enjoying himself as well. We're still trying to get him to smile. He's on the verge but mostly he's one stone-faced little critter...for now.

Tomorrow, we are on our way to Arkansas to visit Mary's family. We are sure to have an entire new crop of pictures when we return.

Weekend trip to see Jamey's family

We were able to spend last weekend at Jamey's mom's house in Elizabeth, LA. We had a great time with his family. It was fun, but very HOT!!!!
We try each summer to get a picture of all the grandchildren on the Droddy side. It's amazing to think that in just six years, Bonnie (Jamey's mom, whom the kids call B.B.) has had six grandchildren. The oldest kids are 6 years old and the rest stairstep in age down to Abram--5 BOYS and 1 GIRL!













After a long day of play, with no naps, the kids had very dirty feet. We had to take a picture to give you an idea.








We set my camera on the timer and were able to get a pretty decent picture of everyone. This is the first attempt at a family picture in several years. With all those crazy kids, I'm sure you can understand why we don't do this very often!!













The kids enjoyed some wet and wacky times on the slip-n-slide. Needless to say, they worked up a good appetite. I think between the five of these kids, they put away 2 whole pizzas at supper.
Abram is doing great lifting up his head. His neck is getting stronger and everyone had fun taking turns holding him.

Jamey's 33rd birthday...behold the peanut butter pie!!

Today we celebrated Jamey's 33rd birthday. Unfortunately for Jamey, it was much like many of his days, complete with working, mowing the yard, and changing an abundance of poopy diapers. What a day!!

With that being said, we did get to do a few special things together. Seth, Abram, and I took Jamey coffee and a homemade white chocolate raspberry scone from a local coffee house here (Jonah is in day camp at church this week). Jamey chose to eat breakfast for supper, so we went out to eat at Strawn's (a local restaurant written up in Southern Living for its pies) for dinner.

The pinnacle of today was of course the peanut butter pie. Jamey and I discovered a delicious peanut butter pie at another restaurant here in Shreveport. Southfield Grill makes a peanut butter pie that just the sight of it makes you salivate like a dog, and the taste makes you thank God for your taste buds. So, in lieu of a cake, we splurged and bought a whole pie for his birthday. Needless to say, we have all enjoyed a piece of the pie. Well, I guess Abram didn't get a piece, but his day is coming. He was weighed today and is already up to NINE POUNDS!!! Other than having a blocked tear duct in one eye, and being a little jaundiced still (which are both pretty common for newborns), he is doing great!!

Jamey went to check on the boys before we went to bed last night and was surprised to find that Jonah was not in his bed. However, he looked over and saw this. Jonah had climbed in bed with Seth, and they had both fallen asleep. How this happened, I have no idea. Usually, they have trouble going to sleep because they talk to each other across the room. This is one of those countless moments of motherhood that you just cherish your kids!!











The boys wanted to hold Seth this morning and I just couldn't resist the opportunity for yet another picture of all of them together. Hopefully, none of our children will experience vision loss from the super mega bright flash on my camera.
Once again, Abram seems thrilled with life. It's hard to believe that he will be four weeks old tomorrow. Time flies by so fast. With that said, it should be just a couple of weeks or so before he begins to smile at us. Then we will know that he is not as bored with us as he seems to be right now!!!

Outdoor fun = Mosquito time

Well, I had heard it jokingly said that the mosquito is the state bird of Louisiana. I am a believer now. We have certain windows of time that we can play in the yard now, since mornings and evenings are mosquito infested. So, here are the boys enjoying the sprinkler after lunch on Saturday.








Abram is enjoying some "tummy time." What you can't see in the picture is Seth hovering over him. The newness of baby "ABUM" as Seth refers to him, has NOT worn off.



Three pregnancies can really reek havoc on your ab muscles. Therefore, my willing workout partners and I have been doing some pilates together.
