It's fun turning 1!

This past Friday, we celebrated Abram's first birthday. I guess Abram celebrated too, if by celebrating you mean that he porked down his first taste of cake. It truly is hard to believe that we have had our last little blob of boy for a year. It seems like yesterday AND forever ago that he was in the NICU hooked up to tubes and wires, breathing short, shallow breaths. Far cry (literally) from today. He's crawling all over the house. Below, he's sporting the same "I'm 1" hat and bib that all the boys have worn on their 1st birthdays. Jonah's and Seth's hat-and-bib pictures are lined up on the fridge waiting for Abram's to be added to the collection. He seems to be holding his cupcake up on purpose--I think he's proud of the "A" cupcakes that Mary made and his Mimi iced. Actually, I think this was his first taste and he's wondering where this cakey goodness has been all his short life.
Halfway into the cupcake, Abram pauses to pose with his brothers. Abram is distracted OR desperately looking for someone to remove the pointy puff-adorned party hat.
Here, Abram has finished his own cupcake and has gone to work on polishing off Jonah's crumbs. He's an animal.
OK, the pictures above are from "party" #1 with Mimi and Pa. Below are pix from "party" #2 with Bibi and my sister's family.
Abram...Piece of Cake. Piece of Cake...Abram................Goodbye Piece of Cake.
