The many faces of the Droddys...

October brought many spooky, crazy looks for the Droddys!!  Jonah had to dress up like a book character for school.  We added one awesome striped shirt from the BCM garage sale, a pair of glasses, and a felt hat made by mom.....Waldo is found!!

No explaination for this.  Jamey was trying to help Jonah feel better about dressing up for school by sporting this wacky wig!! What a great Dad & Husband!!

Gideon was the cutest Gnome ever!!  We were glad to have a costume that fit nicely over the helmet!!  We thought about making him a football player, but a YARD GNOME is so much better!!
Seth transformed into Iron Man for the occasion!!  Super powers unite!!!
Abram was a goldfish.....every party needs a fish!!!
Happy Fall Everyone!!

Big Boys Birthday Recap

Jonah and Seth's birthdays happened at the end of September.  Glad to finally be taking time for a brief recap.  Here are the two "bigs" with some of their gifts: Angry Bird t-shirts, Camel Baks, and frisbees for disc golf.  They're like little college students!  For the record...Jonah is now 8 and Seth is 6.
For their party this year, we had a "camp-in" at teh BCM building complete with tents, sleeping bags, a faux fire, and smores.  They each had a few friends stay for their first overnighter.  Everyone seemed to have a great time!  Mary outdid herself with the cupcakes for their party. Yeah, she made candy look like meat on the grill.  She is awesome.

HELLO AUGUST!!!

We just got back from Student Week in Glorieta, NM on Friday. Student Week is one of our favorite times of year because it gives us a chance to get away with our family and our college students for a time of spiritual refreshment. It is also a chance to get out of the Louisiana EXTREME heat and humidity for the cool, fresh mountain air! Also, it was at Student Week in 2009 that God first called us to adopt. Last year at Student Week 2010, even though we didn't know it yet, Gideon was born half-way across the world. This year at Student Week 2011, Gideon celebrated his first birthday!! God is good!!
Jonah just seems to get taller every day. He starts second grade in just three days!! He was wading in the Pecos River and "accidentally" fell in.....don't think he minded it too much!! Seth is finally starting Kindergarten this year. I'm sure he will be an absolute delight for his teacher. He is such an easy going, smiley kid. Oh, and he just lost his second tooth!!

Gideon seems to be adjusting fine to life with his three brothers. He is gaining teeth as fast as the older boys are loosing teeth. It was fun to be able to bring Gideon to Student Week, since that was the place this whole journey began!!! He got a chance to experience all the love and fun that our college students provide for our kids!!!

Jamey and Abram were also exploring the Pecos River. We had lots of sticks and rocks to take home as souvenirs after our time in the river!! Life with boys is always an adventure!!

Jamey's brother, Kendal, and his new wife of 3 weeks.....Jamie Droddy :) were two of the college students that attended Student Week with us!! We are so thankful to have Jamie in our family now. Also, its lots of fun that there are two Jamie Leigh/Jamey Lee Droddys!!! We are thankful to have them living so close!!

It is our tradition on the long, 15 hour road trip out to Glorieta to stop at the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, TX. Our students have a good time spray painting the cars and taking lots of pics in the process. Our family always takes the time to get a family photo among the cars.

HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY, ABRAM!!!

Here is Abram's Birthday cake....I wish I could take credit for this, but under the circumstances, I decided I better defer this responsibility to a friend, Christine. She did an awesome job on the cake!! We can't wait to eat it!!!

Here is Abram with his #3 shirt and playing with some of his new birthday presents!! I'm sure he wishes this ice cream was real.....this type is a lot less messy.

Abram had a good time opening some presents from family members that came in the mail...its been a birthday all week long!!!! It's hard to believe that Abram is 3 now!! It just seems like yesterday that we were making the big transition to Louisiana, while I was several months pregnant with Abram. In case you didn't know, we named him Abram because during our move from Georgia and transition time, we kept hearing the story of Abram. God told Abram to go. We were going, moving.....not fully knowing what was in store, but trusting God's hand to guide, protect, and provide. God didn't give many instructions, just told Abram to go.....Abram obeyed. We pray the same for this little guy......."So Abram left, as the LORD had told him (Gen. 12:4)." We pray that our Abram will always be obedient to God's will in his life!!

We wish Jamey (and baby G) were here with us to celebrate in person....but, so glad we have skype. We have been able to celebrate through video chat. Its funny how we are at a similar place in our lives again....given the choice to obey and walk with God through another transition time. We patiently await the return of Jamey and G. I hope we will always have the obedience that Abram had in the book of Genesis to follow God. HE is faithful!! We are full of thankfulness to God today!! Thank you God for Abram!!

What a busy last couple of months!!!

Jonah had a manners tea party at school recently. It was lots of fun to see Jonah & all his buddies cleaned up and looking handsome!!
February was filled with basketball games for both boys. Jonah & Seth have proven to be good little ball players. Coach Jamey did a great job, too!!!
The bigger boys needed Valentine's Day shirts for school, and since it is impossible to find manly Valentine's day shirts, I decided to make my own. So, here are the creations.
It is crazy to think that we have had more snow days than when we lived in Atlanta, GA. Here is a nice little snow we got back in February!! Yeah, snow day!!

Family Pics at Christmas.

A couple of days before Christmas we were able to go to Silver Dollar City in Branson for the day. It was COLD! Fun, but COLD!
Christmas day at Mary's parents (Mimi and Pa). Note the awesome shirts that Mary made for the boys.
There's an abandoned building in the middle of nowhere on the way to my (Jamey's) hometown. Mary always wants to stop and take pictures there. On this trip, the weather was just right and we had some time so we had a mini photo shoot! The pix turned out great.
